Six organizations received support in St. Louis City Senior Fund’s current fiscal year through the Vehicle Matching Grants funding opportunity.
In 2023, Senior Fund opened applications to support vehicle purchases for organizations serving older St. Louis City residents. We recognize organizations need reliable and functional vehicles to deliver transportation, meal delivery, home maintenance, and other services for their clients. We’re offering this grant assistance due to rising costs of—and limited resources for—purchasing new or used vehicles for organizations. Funding can be requested to support a portion of the cost of a vehicle purchase. Most awards were for a 20% match; some awards were higher. Applications were accepted on a rolling basis until budgeted funds for the year were expended.
The following organizations have received vehicle matching grant support in our current fiscal year toward the expense of one or multiple vehicles; FY2024 (July 2023 – June 2024):
- City Seniors (four vehicles)
- Five Star Center (two vehicles)
- Midtown Community Services (one vehicle)
- Northside Youth and Senior Service Center (three vehicles)
- St. Elizabeth’s Adult Day Care Center (one vehicle)
- Southside Senior Citizens Center (one vehicle)
The funding opportunity is currently closed for the remainder of Senior Fund’s fiscal year but will re-open in July 2024. Learn more about Senior Fund’s available grants on the Funding Opportunities page.
