St. Louis City Senior Fund is in search of its next executive director. Learn about the position, desired qualifications, and compensation here.
With the approaching retirement of Senior Fund’s inaugural executive director, Jamie Opsal, the Board of Directors is seeking the next person who is well-positioned to lead the organization.
Senior Fund is an independent taxing district established in the City of St. Louis to support resources for residents 60 years or older. Senior Fund is in its seventh year of grantmaking. Since July 2018, the Senior Fund has:
- Managed and distributed more than $11 million in grant awards to over 50 organizations that have provided free, or significantly reduced cost, services for thousands of older adults in the City of St. Louis.
- Served as an active advocate for older adults, and contributing funder, in emergency response efforts such as the COVID-19 pandemic and Heritage House apartments closure.
- Been a lead partner in the development of:
- St. Louis Behavioral Health and Aging Council, a network created to improve collaboration and coordination between behavioral health and aging network service providers; and
- Missouri Council on Aging, a multi-disciplinary, statewide coalition focused on advocating for and with older Missourians.
- And more.
Working with the Board of Directors, staff, and partners, the incoming Executive Director has the opportunity to significantly contribute to an established, but still evolving, organization as we seek to ensure older adults in the City of St. Louis have the resources they need. If you are ready to lead an organization committed to serving and advocating for older adults, we invite you to apply. Applications for the position will be accepted until September 16 at 5pm.
