Senior Fund Awards $90,058 in New Emergency Needs Grants

Requests from 13 organizations were approved in October to receive a total of $90,058 for small grants that address needs related to COVID-19.

The Senior Fund’s COVID-19 Emergency Needs grant opportunity is funding awarded to address any immediate needs that an organization may have to support older St. Louis City residents. Immediate was defined as needs that would be addressed within one to six months after receipt of funds. Funding could be used for PPE and cleaning supplies for staff or older City clients, technology needs directly tied to programs or service delivery, staff support due to loss of funding, or other resources for older clients (e.g., grocery assistance). Organizations could apply for grants up to $10,000.

  • Association on Aging with Developmental Disabilities (PPE & Cleaning Supplies)
  • City Seniors, Inc (PPE & Technology Support)
  • Deaconess Nurse Ministry (Technology Support)
  • Five Star Center (PPE, Cleaning Supplies, & Technology Support)
  • Hope in The Ville & God’s Helping Hand (PPE, Cleaning Supplies, & Food)
  • Independence Center (Technology Support)
  • MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries (Food & Other Resources for Clients)
  • PEACE Weaving Wholeness (Technology Support)
  • Provident Behavioral Health, Mary Ryder Home (PPE & Other Resources for Clients)
  • Southside Senior Citizens Center (PPE & Cleaning Supplies)
  • St. Andrew’s Charitable Foundation (Food)
  • The Fit and Food Connection (Food)
  • Walk N Faith (PPE, Cleaning Supplies, & Other Resources for Clients)
